About CFCI

Christ for the City International (CFCI) is an evangelical protestant international mission organization that began as the urban ministry program of Latin American Mission. As the program grew, CFCI branched off in 1995 to become an independent organization. Our mission remains the same: To help people transform cities by transforming lives.

Currently, CFCI has missionaries in 15 countries. Over 75% of our missionaries are nationals ministering in their own countries and cities. Before entering a country, CFCI is invited into a city by the pastoral association, which enables us to work across denominational lines. Each ministry base is then led by nationals and has its own board of directors.

Since the needs of each city are different, out ministries meet the specific needs they see in their cities. This means that CFCI works in a very grassroots, organic way. We do not have one ministry strategy we use in every country. Our ministries in Chile look much different than our ministries in Costa Rica because each location is experiencing different problems and has different needs.

Among the many ministries created by CFCI there are: orphanages, a drug rehabilitation center, church support and training, feeding programs in slums and schools, sports ministries and medical clinics, just to name a few.
