SERVE IN COSTA RICA

Evangelistic Outreaches:
There are many ways you and your team can reach out to the people of Costa Rica and share Christ’s love with them. You can put together a VBS with a local community church, do a sports outreach, or put on a women’s seminar teaching cooking or sewing. Other options include puppet ministry or dramas in a local school. If there are musicians on your team, a worship concert is a great way to engage a local community. Our staff will work with you to design an outreach that utilizes the unique strengths of your team members.
CFCI Ministry & Projects:

Renacer
Renacer is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for teenage girls. Your team can minister to these girls by organizing Bible studies, games, crafts, and activities centered on communicating the love of Christ.
La Carpio
Join CFCI in serving the people of La Carpio. Built on a garbage dump, La Carpio is a slum area where many Nicaraguan refugees live. CFCI has children’s ministry, a medical clinic, and a woman’s ministry all geared toward reaching out to those that the government of Costa Rica has forgotten. Your team can help in so many ways from providing medical assistance to working with children, playing sports with teens, or teaching women to sew or style hair.
New Horizons
New Horizons is a sports ministry located in the La Carpio slum. The ministry is focused on reaching kids who would otherwise turn to gangs to meet their needs for companionship and protection. Using sports as a medium for communicating love and support to these kids, our missionaries are able to build relationships with them, offer them career training and classes, and share the gospel with them. If your team members like playing soccer you can serve through teaching soccer workshops, putting on exhibition games, or simply being there to play with the kids.
Transformations
Transformations is a multi-faceted ministry located in the San Jose slum of Guararí where drugs, prostitution, and gangs are rampant. Transformations is dedicated to offering the people of Guararí, many of whom are illegal Nicaraguan immigrants, a chance to experience the transforming power of Christ. As a team you can serve in our feeding program, work with our children’s tutoring and after school programs, play sports with the youth, help with adult sewing or art classes, or teach Bible lessons. Whatever your team’s gifts are, they can be used to serve the people of Guararí.
Projects with a Local Church:
CFCI is committed to supporting and working alongside the local evangelical church. Your team can help CFCI reach out to new congregations or cement existing relationships with area pastors through your service. Work projects and VBS with the church’s children go a long way in providing a local church with needed resources and connecting them with CFCI ministries that can continue to serve them even after you’ve gone home.
